You know what the biggest problem is which most of us face when we start something new or something which we have never done before. There is a feeling inside which tells us that since we have dared to do something new and taken the first step towards it, things will start happening our way from that point onwards and success will be easy to achieve.
Is success easy
Have you met someone like that or have you felt yourself to be in the same boat? Problem is that people seem to live happily inside their little bubble. Fake optimism is what fills them. Although deep inside they know that things do not happen in the blink of an eye. But they do not want to tell themselves this fact. They believe that they have made an excellent plan and things will happen one after another the way they planned. They forget that they have to make a lot of mistakes before they even reach close to some success.
The bitter truth of failure
When the situation makes them realize this bitter truth, they are disappointed. Their small mistakes lead to failure and fear takes over them. Now the process of questioning own capabilities starts. Soon they lose all hope that once they had in themselves. All of a certain they are not so certain if they want to accomplish their goals anymore.
They start telling themselves, “I have put in all my effort, time, energy, and money into this thing and nothing seems to happen my way! There is no point wasting more time on this”.
Failure shows everyone their worst side. Finally, they end up quitting and start to believe that they are not good enough.
The missing part
What most people do not realize is that most of us will be mediocre when we start something new. There is a possibility that some will be better than others in the beginning. Luck may play some part in the success for a few. But everyone will have a lot of things to learn.
For example, when we start to learn how to write, we are given dots and we just have to connect them. That template is common to all. The first letter we can write may not be close to being perfect. It will be quite far! But we keep working on it. Failure does not stop us. Instead, we keep trying for better. Those little failures help us get better. There is an old saying “Practice makes you perfect”, which is what we put to use.
The same perseverance is what helps you achieve your goals in the long run. It keeps you on track. Even though the only thing you want to do is throw in the towel, you keep going. You keep learning from mistakes. And thanks to your perseverance, you keep refining your skills and further keep improving every day.
Only way forward
The only way to keep moving forward is to learn from mistakes. And never forget to take one step at a time. If you do not know where to start, just sit down and plan. While planning, remember to incorporate failures. Remember this is the formula of high-achievers. You have to take fearless actions and reach your goals.
